When I was an undergrad at UF the dorm area I lived in had a pond in which lived a baby alligator. Kind of crazy. I'm not sure what the story was--how it got there, what the plan was for moving it once it got bigger. But I never heard of it venturing out of the pond and eating anyone, so it was all good.
